Cookies with chopped choc

No, I'm not talking about usual choc chip cookies.

Wanted some biscuits/cookies/whatever-I-can-nibble-with-a-cup-of-coffee, so baked some this afternoon. As Nigella's simple cut-out cookies with (my idea of) crushed Smarties were a big hit with my girls and their friends. So, used the same cookie recipe again. (Thanks, Ms Lawson.)

Didn't fancy icing or plain stuff, so I ransacked the kitchen cupboards and found a packet of Meiji's Milk chocolate which my mum had sent me before Christmas. Usually chocolates won't last in my house. I mean, they never have a chance of living long enough to celebrate the coming of "best-before date" age. But this packet was untouched for about 3 months, which is a miracle! Well, I decided to chop up the chocolate to use for the cookies. Result? Well, I wouldn't say that they were the best thing you could taste. But I'll definitely make it again. I won't buy a bag of rather expensive chocolate chips for this kind of cookies.

Want to know the reason why the Japanese chocolate had been untouched? The reason is, it doesn't melt in my mouth. I have to bite and chew to consume it, which is rather strange for ordinary milk chocolate.

It seems that a baking bug has got me again. Prepared for the sponge of my precious sourdough this evening and now I really want to bake egg + scallion pasties tomorrow... Somebody, stop me!
