Stinking strike

Thanks to the civil servants' unions' 24 hour strike, my rubbish bin wasn't emptied today. The bin is not for the recycling materials, so some food waste is included. Yuck, imagine, it will have to stay in the bin for another 2 weeks! Lucky that it's not hot summer and lucky that our bin is only 2/3 full. But still, why do I have to pay the rates for my bin not collected?

Watched the local TV news and saw the pictures of demonstrations and pickets all over the country. How did some councils managed to get their refuse collection done today and not our council?? (I shouldn't have watched the news. What I don't know won't hurt me.) Oh, and something to laugh about. The demonstration in Belfast was far bigger than the St Patrick's Day parade!! Maybe the next year, they should join the St Patrick's Day parade to make it worth watching. (As long as it's not on Tuesday.)

I bet today wasn't the union leaders' bin day.
