I'm reading

Started reading Gone with the Wind about fortnight ago. I read the novel whenever I have a time to sit down with a cuppa, so I haven't read much. (Now it's past the part where Scarlett met slave men from Tara in Atlanta.)

It's really a perfect timing that I started reading the novel. If I had read it last year, I wouldn't have understood Scarlett at all. I know that she became a widow at 17 and I at 33. But nice to find that there's somebody (even fictional) that feels the same about widowhood. (Of course I married for love, so the situation is not exactly the same. I don't have anybody like Ashley or Rhett, either!)

And it's true about how a girl should behave to get a man. I know that the novel's time setting is during the American Civil War. But it's still true even now that you need to behave in a certain way to get a gentleman. It means that I will have no chance!
