I hope this weekend is not the only summer that we get this year!

Busy, but good day we had yesterday.

First, went for a walk along the river in the morning. Nice breeze, friendly cyclist, my sisters (= cows in the field), water, green field, quietness, etc. Strange that there was nobody fishing, but anyway it was a nice change of atmosphere for us townies.

Then, I trimmed the hedges in the front garden in the afternoon. Quiet tiring in the heat, and I couldn't work as quick as I usually did, but quite happy with the result. The man next door was trimming his earlier, and now my hedge look much better than his! (Yes, I become quite competitive and childish when it comes to trivial things like this.)

Then in the evening we had the first barbecue of the year in the back garden. The cat, S, joined us as usual. (He always gatecrashes to our barbecue.) We fed him with chicken, pork sausage and milk, and he ended up lying down on the back/side on the lawn, making himself at home, which looked very comical. Maybe it's about time we take him away from his owner B living  in the same block?? (Joking, of course.)

It was strange that we were the only one in the neighbourhood who were doing a barbie yesterday evening. How could all the others stay indoors in such a lovely evening... Yes, the football final and the final of Over the Rainbow were on TV.
