My girls' schools are in the walking distances, and they can walk there unaccompanied. But my wee one still likes me to walk her to/from her school. Well, I don't mind getting myself ready and walk with her even I am always walking like a zombie in the morning. Fresh air and brisk walk always wake me up, anyway.
This morning, on the way home I was overtaking an oldish man on the footpath of a bridge. He suddenly greeted with "Good morning". Then, I recognised him, who I often see walking to his shop at that time of the morning. We don't know each other, but we always exchange greetings.
But today, he added a few words: "Your red hair is nice".
I nearly tripped to hear that. Yes, my short red hair is quite popular among women and my kids' friends in this town. But I very very very seldom receive a compliment from men, you know. They always look, but they are always quiet, probably to save themselves from being eaten alive by this odd-looking monster/witch. So, I was taken aback this morning. Come to think of it, my old window cleaner complimented my hair some days ago, too, which was a surprise. Well, but the both men are well out of my range and kind of father-figures, and they should know well about it. Probably that's why they gave me the compliments. Pity that they are not the people I'd like to hear those nice words from...
Did you change your hair? Love to see it!
ReplyDeleteRecently, I couldn't open your blog, I don't know why but I was able to today. You should come up here--lovely countryside--with your wee ones some time, maybe during X'mas holidays or anytime! Why not.
My hair? Well, a wee bit shorter and probably a tiny tiny bit redder than the time we met, I think. It can be quite bright in the sun, which I find exciting. Not like a traffic light, though.
ReplyDeleteStrange that you couldn't open my blog. Other people seemed to be able to read it OK.
Anyway, nice to hear from you again. Yeah, it would be lovely to see you again soon. We must arrange something, indeed. Never been to that part of N Ireland. Wish I had a car...
