It was worth a bit of resistance against a wise woman.

I have a little flowerpot just outside the front door. It's a size of... just enough to plant 5-6 pansies. Now it has bit of ivy and some flowering plants. All were given by my next-door neighbour, J, including the pot, actually. She buys bedding plants in trays for her garden, and gives me some when she has too many. Very kind of her.

Well, but about 3-4 weeks ago, she suggested (ordered?) me to get rid of the last year's flowering plants in the pot, because many parts looked dying and they didn't look "right". I had kept the plants because they were still alive. And I didn't like the idea of throwing them away just because the pot should look pretty and perfect. So, even though J was telling me that the plants wouldn't have flowers any more because it's the second year and they were not strong, I refused to put them in a compost bin.

And this morning, I noticed that the plants had 2 pretty dark pink flowers! You see, it was worth keeping them even though they didn't look perfect before. Nice to see nature being tough and pull through.
