Today, I managed to cut one of the back hedges, which was a big job. Now my side of the hedge looks very nice and neat, which makes the next-door's side so ugly. The couple living next-door have been away since the start of this week. They will be shock to see the state of the hedge when they come back! Used loads of back, shoulder + arm muscles while stretching myself to reach high and far places with an electric hedge trimmer. I'm sure my body and limbs will be aching tomorrow.
While standing on a ladder and cutting the top part of the hedge, I suddenly missed little K who used to lived next-door. This lonely Latvian girl used to come out in her back garden and climbed up on the big oil tank to say "Hello" to me (1, 000 times in 1 hour), when I was hedge-cutting on the ladder. She couldn't speak English first, but she learned the language bit by bit. But we had fun playing catch over the low fence near the back doors or K showing me her little trick such as skipping or tumbling. Thanks to her demand, it took me forever to do laundry chores or garden works. But I liked seeing her happy face. Also liked her older sister, who came out to show me whatever new things she got.
The last time I saw them, it was about 14 months ago when their family were moving to the other end of the town. I wonder how the girls are doing now...
