The lawns had become too long after too many showery days. Never had a chance to cut them because it was too wet. So, cut one in the front garden this morning. Nothing unusual happened, except me seeing a young woman, who lives down the street, walk the other side of the street sobbing quite loudly. Don't know her name, and we don't say Hello. So, have no idea what's going on in her life, but am still concerned of her state. Good thing was, myself was the only person outside in the street when she was walking, and was behind a hedge squatting to weed the flowerbed. So, she didn't notice anybody in the street. Of course that's none of my business. But somehow still can't forget about her sobbing. It's not usual to see a person in such a state in street, you know. Just hope that she feels better now.
J the next-door asked my girls to get milk and tea for A, who has a broken wrist. Lovely to see my own daughters going for a message for neighbours. (Of course, had to say "OK" when they asked me if they could buy a little bit of sweets with their pocket money.)
My wee one went out with her classmate Ca and her mum at lunchtime. Not the first time that they went out together. My big one and I had a very strange lunch at home. Pizza, miso-soup and spinach + ricotta vegetarian sausages. Guess what? None of us thought that we had a funny combination of dishes until we finished eating them all. Well, good thing was my big girl ate spinach without spitting out for the first time!! Well done!
After lunch, cut the back lawn. J the next-door was there sorting out her garden. Being asked how my girls were doing, mentioned my wee one out with her friend. J asked who the friend was. Guess what, she know Ca and her mum and dad, who are regular church-goers at a church J belongs to. Yes, this town has thousands of people, but they know each other too well.
This afternoon, took Japanese stuff out of the display cabinet in my bedroom. Just remembered that I hadn't wanted the cabinet and did argue like hell when my hubby reported to me that he had accepted the cabinet from our neighbour who was trying to get rind of the furniture for nothing. Waste of space, you know. And how dare he decide to have the cabinet without my permission!!! Well, it was more than 2 years ago. But this morning had an idea of putting the cabinet into the garden shed to make space in my room. Then, remembered that I put a Japanese vase, bowls, ornaments, etc. just because we had the cabinet, not because we wanted to show to anybody. So, now the cabinet is empty and the stuff is in a cardboard box. Feel much better, actually. Like what had been in the cabinet, but they are not particularly my taste of art, you know. And don't need to be reminded my nationality whenever I walk past the cabinet. In September there might be a wardrobe being placed where the cabinet is. Hope so, anyway.
