My Polish neighbour A and his girlfriend, whom I don't the name of yet, were in the back garden doing a barbecue with their friends again. (It seems that they invite their friends on weekends.) They talked very loud in Polish, probably because we don't understand the languages. (But me and J next-door were saying that the Polish should have bad hearings.) And the music was quite loud, too.
Later on, they started doing karaoke in the house. Could hear it while was inside my own house. Remembering the suffering caused by the Latvians, started getting angry. I was ready to knock their back door and ask them to turn down the volume after my girls went to bed. Really hate this kind of confrontation because don't want any bad feelings between me and any of my neighbours and also because am the only one who has to deal with it. Don't have a convenient thing called husband any more, you know.
When my girls went to bed at 9.30pm and was ready to knock the back door, the noise suddenly stopped. Asked my girls if they could hear anything, they said "No. It's fine". Huge relief. Soon my wee one remembered and told me that when she was in the back garden this afternoon A asked her the time for her to go to bed at night. Ah, that's why they stopped the noise. Lovely.
Never thought that A and his girlfriend were that thoughtful. Mean, recently there are too many cases of noisy foreigners in this country, and was afraid that might have to suffer like my friend has been. Am so glad that our new neighbours are not like the ignorant Latvians.
One thing. Heard Bon Jovi's "Living on Prayer" as karaoke from the next door. It reminded me of the time that the song was released. Was still a schoolgirl!!! Also hear some familiar Roxette songs from next-door house during the afternoon. They must be around my age or a bit younger, then. But no, don't want to sing "Living on Prayer". Embarrassing.
One more thing. Chatting with my girls about the sudden stop of the noise, was saying "You know, your mummy is now like a..." Then, my wee one said "A witch?"!!!! Thanks, darling, just wanted to tell my girls that had become very protective and brave like a mother bear with little cubs. (It's true. Am more outspoken and not afraid of confrontations as much as used to be.) But me, a witch?? Pity that my big girl agreed and I couldn't deny it...
