Preventive tablets for migraines, which I got from my doctor on Tuesday, hasn't worked yet. Had a migraine in the middle of night two nights in a row even though I took the tablets. My neighbour thinks that it takes a few days for the medicine to kick in. She could be right, but my doctor and a pharmacist never told me such a thing. After 3 weeks of migraines, I really had enough of the idea of western medicine on migraines. They don't even know much about migraines, anyway.
Spotted a tub of homeopathy tablets for migraines at a supermarket. Not very expensive, so bought one to try. Scientists snigger and say homeopathy tablets are just a kind of silly placebo stuff. Well, if I can get rid of migraines by placebo effects, I will be happy to try homeopathy. Have never trusted alternative medicine, but when western medicine can't help me much, what else could I do?
Took one dose this afternoon and will take another just before going to bed. Let's see how I sleep tonight. (Still am thinking that I will have a migraine during sleep tonight.)
Migraines suck. Pure and simple.
ReplyDeleteYou may want to take a look at what you eat - your descriptions fit quite well into my mother's description of her migraines when she gets E202, E210 & E211 in her food (sulphurbased preservativ, if I remeber correctly). Personally, I used to get similar symptoms (though not as bad) from certain artificial colours. I have a friend who gets migraines from chocolate, poor guy :-(
Yeah, I've been wondering what really keep this time's migraines longer than usual. My sleep pattern is not ideal, you see. And strangely, this time, migraines happen during sleep or when I get up in the morning. Could be something to do with circulation/water system inside. But recently I eat dried fruits instead of biscuits and sweets, which could be to blame. Dried fruits are usually treated with preservatives. So, I'll see what happens to my head if I avoid them for several days. (Actually I ate 2 dried apricots a few minutes ago, and the packet says that it has sulpher dioxide as preservative...)
