A new friend for my girls

My hot cross bun did not kill the little girl, K, next-door. So, she and my wee one have been playing on and off in the back gardens today. Funny that they play like people at a prison visit. They can communicate with each other and have fun together, but they are physically separated by the fence. Must invite K to our garden soon. She is a lovely girl.

Hope her mother will understand what I'll say in English. They are from an Eastern European country and K's mother is very quiet towards people outside. Seems that she mingles only with people from her country and doesn't understand English very well. Even so, K has been learning English quite well. 5 month ago, she looked puzzled when she was spoken to. (Maybe she was frightened of my weird appearances?) But now she can count a bit, say greetings, ask for things she wants, etc. Maybe she won't need much language help when she starts school from September. I wonder which school K will go to. The nearest Catholic school, or the same as the one my girls go to?
