A phone call this afternoon. It was from my Polish uncle. I joined this family 11 years ago by marriage, but this was the very first time for me to speak to him. I liked him instantly when I heard his voice. It was a pleasant surprise.
We were saying that we had become outcasts of the family. (He is a widower of my husband's paternal aunt.) He seems that he can't get in touch with the British relatives. Our in-laws are not close-knit family, any way. They seem they are busy with their own stuff. Recently I started feeling the same, too. So, good to know that we can get in touch with each other and we are in the same boat.
I must phone him regularly. The old man shouldn't be feeling isolated in the family, any way.
