Little K

My girls were out with their new friend G all afternoon and evening. They really love playing with G recently, which means they now see less and less of little K next-door. Every time I go out at the back garden and find K in her garden, she looks at me and makes sad faces and noises like a little puppy, and then she tells me that she wants to play with her friend, which means my wee one. Poor thing.

This evening, I was taking the dry clothes off the line and found K alone there. She looked so lonely that I couldn't help chatting with her. Of course I couldn't understand some sentences she is trying to say but I'm impressed with her English improving all the time. She loved my attention. And I didn't mind playing with her a little bit: trying to fix her cheapy yo-yo, collecting rose petals together, playing catch with her balls, talking about her new sandals, etc. Of course she had to play alone when I was washing dishes and mowing lawn. But it was nice to see her smiling again. (And it was nice to hear that she liked my wedding ring. It's cheap, but I've never seen anybody wearing a wedding ring with the same design yet.)

K often mentions that a person looking after K is sleeping while K is locked out in the back garden. I don't know if it's true but I heard that one woman work in the daytime and the other one work at night. Pity there is not a 3rd adult. Then, K can be paid better attention and doesn't need to stay out alone for such a long time in the evening. I know it's none of my business, but I believe the child deserves better.
