I was still fuming about the noisy neighbour yesterday morning when I was talking about her with another neighbour, who was also woken by the noise. This is what lack of sleep makes me... ranting like Hitler.
Surprisingly I started calming down after lunch time. After all, the noisy neighbours don't deserve an eviction for the incidents. And decided to ask the neighbour's local boyfriend to tell her how annoyed I had been. I wanted somebody else to listen to me and I didn't want my intention to be misunderstood by a person from a different culture.
Had to wait for a few hours until they came home but finally caught the couple at the back garden smoking after tea. I spoke to her boyfriend. All he could said was timid repetitive "OK". And fortunately the woman told me that she could understand me OK and her excuse was they got carried away because her brother visited. Mmm... at least their attitude wasn't hostile and now I can't find any reason to contact their landlord.
I'm quite happy that the woman now knows I hadn't been happy and I would tell what I didn't like. Pleased with myself being diplomatic. Let's see how they behave the next time they have a party.
Sat down on a chair with a pen and paper after my girls went to bed last night. I didn't plan to finish any of my unfinished poems. (I have too many at the moment.) But somehow I finished the one which I started in January!! I'm not sure about the quality of the writing, but I'm pleased with myself still being able to write and to enjoy writing. I had thought my mental status had badly damaged my brain cells for creative writing since November. They are still here and started picking up some strength, it seems. Lovely.
And got a cookbook from Hungary this morning. A very pretty book. I was supposed to receive photocopies of it. So, I've been smiling in a very good mood, but started wondering if I deserve this beautiful book. Flicked through it and realised that I often cook Hungarian meals without realising it... Must be because I started using paprika instead of chili when my girls were babies. Still, this similarity is quite startling. I'm sure this book will be very useful in my kitchen. Thanks a lot. You know where I will be for a few days. Wherever the book is!
