Been a very busy spring.
Was in Tokyo for my brother's wedding. The schedule was rather tight, and we wanted to relax a bit. So, couldn't/didn't contact most of our friends in Japan. (Sorry. But I simply didn't have much time during this trip.)
The wedding was lovely and went well despite the bride's father was hospitalised the day before and could not attend it. (He is out of hospital now. Phew.) Never seen my brother so happy, and my girls looked like real princesses in icy blue dresses. The funniest/stupidest part was, my brother's friend/colleague came up to me and introduced himself as if trying to chatting me up. (He could be a good laugh to go out for a drink with, but he has no chance with me :P)
It was nice to be able to meet some of our relatives from Ehime, who I hadn't seen for 15 years. Probably this could be the last time to speak face to face with my uncles and aunties, actually, as they are quite old now. After the reception, we were in a sushi restaurant eating, drinking and chatting until after midnight.
We were extremely lucky that we flew back to London on the 13th and flew to Belfast the next morning. If the flights were one day later, we would have been stranded in London, and ended up travelling on a coach from London to Belfast... Scary. My brother and his missus are now stuck in Amsterdam, hoping to fly home on the 24th. (There were due to fly on the 19th.) Lucky that they are on a group tour, and all the flights and accommodations are arranged by the travel agent. At least they don't need to camp out inside Schipol airport...
This trip was OK. We all had a good time in Japan, and nothing to complain about. Well, I felt like a foreigner, though. The weirdest thing was, I was craving for a fry-up during the weekends (we usually have potato bread, smoked back bacon, mushrooms and egg on Saturday or Sunday). Is this a kind of "homesick"?
Now everything is back to normal, and I feel quite fine. Felt so good today that even baked a loaf of corn bread from the bread book that M gave me. (The book is the best bread recipe book I have ever got. Can't thank her enough.) Now gardening season has arrived... I managed to tame the lawn in the front garden this afternoon somehow, but how could I fit the time for gardening into my life now?? Can you please find me a boyfriend in this town who doesn't mind doing housework and gardening whenever I tell him to do it?
