Bought a flat-pack TV stand the other day. You know, furniture which you can put a TV on top and put DVD player, etc. on the shelf inside. Desperately needed a new one for several years, actually. The old one was unstable, and the top board that TV was sitting on was bending. It was miracle that it didn't collapse.
Anyway, before assembling the furniture, I checked if all the parts were in the box. Guess what? 6 screws were missing!! But my next-door neighbour had suitable ones, and she gave them to me. Lucky.
It was fun putting everything together. I love doing this kind of work. (No wonder I don't need a man in this house.) It's not a creative task, unfortunately, but not a rocket science, either. Of course I had to laugh when I attached the bottom board upside-down to the vertical boards. But it wasn't a fatal mistake. After placing the finished stuff on the corner of the living room, I broke the old stand into pieces for disposal. (By using a screw driver and a hammer. I'm not good at karate chops.) It was fun, indeed.
Anyway, I enjoyed the work so much that I missed a lunch!!! Now my living room doesn't have embarrassing furniture any more. I'm quite pleased with myself for a change.
Can we borrow/rent you? Have three sets of flatpack shelves that needs assembling :-)
