Phoned the environmental health department this morning. Yes, to report the noisy neighbours. The lady at the other end of the line sounded quite surprised that I couldn't be able to sleep because of the noise from 2 doors away from my house with all the windows closed. She sounded really sympathetic when I told her about my next-door neighbour, living 3 doors away was disturbed, too. Anyway, she will send the noisy neighbour a warning letter from the local council. Probably it will explain the law and possible consequences if the noise/nuisance continues. Hope the letter will stop the noise.
Little G was here yesterday (and today, too) for lunch. The fussiest eater on earth. I knew that she wouldn't eat much, so I wasn't upset the left-over on her plate. The thing about little G is, she said exactly what she thinks on every little thing. Am sure some cooks will become offended by her words like "Ugh, it's disgusting", "Yucky", "I don't like this", etc. My reaction was "Alright", "OK" without any sympathy or anger. Amazing that she looks healthy enough with so many things that she refuses to eat. Well, she is rather skinny but her tummy is sticking out, which reminds me of malnourished children in refugee camps. My children never had such tummies when they were little G's age, you know.
Today, she is upsetting my little one several times with her pushy blunt attitude. She goes on and on and on and on just to get her own way. When I told her "No, not today" when she asked if she could paint a box, she keeps saying "Why can't I paint?" "But we still have time to paint", "But I need to paint this box", etc. I have learned to stick to my decision. So, I told her clearly "I told you "No", so you won't paint today". If she was a bit older and if she pushed me to the limit, I would tell her "What part of "No" don't you understand?" or worse, though. Maybe little G needs a little brother or sister so that she will learn that the world is not made only for her. But her mum is not keen on having another child, let alone having a boyfriend. So, I guess little G will keep her attitude for some more years. She is a very loving angelic child, to be fair.
