The Polish next-door were having a party this evening. The noise (music and voices) were so loud that my girls couldn't sleep. I banged the wall with a broomstick to let them know something. But no reaction. So, at 10pm I went to their front door, banged the door the hardest with my bare hand and put through a note "Could you please turn down the music + noise? My children cannot sleep". I was too angry to see their face. So, I went home.
After a while, the Polish girl came to my door and said something in such broken English that all I could understand was "give you silence". It sounded apologetic. So, I smiled and told her "Thanks. Don't worry too much." Then, the music were turned down. Good.
BUT! after a while, they started the loud music again. It made me so mad that I banged their wall again. No reaction. Spoke to the granny next door about the noise. Then, I phoned the police and explained the situation. The officer told me that they would have a word with the Polish.
Waited and waited for a police car to arrive. But after 20-30 minutes, no sign of anything. And the music went louder and louder. Another talk with the granny and I asked her to phone the police again. She did, and after10 minutes or so, 2 policemen were at the Polish couple's front door. They seemed telling the couple about the complaint, and the long-awaited peace and quietness arrived!!
Glad that I phoned the police. (Thanks, officers!) Strange, though. I mean, the Polish next-door. Why did they send the cow, who couldn't speak English properly, to my door, and later they turned up the music? Did they think that I wouldn't do anything against them because I am a woman who has no partner? They should have known that a mother bear with her cubs can kill anybody who annoys her.
Lovely... not.
ReplyDeleteThe was one of the two main reasons for us to move (loud neighbours + more space).
After all, they are not evil + brave enough to start the loud music again after the policemen left. So, I won! Lovely.
