My big girl had been ill with high temperature and coughs since Sunday afternoon. Myself, have been ill since Tuesday evening. During Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, nursed my wee one who vomited several times. Couldn't get out of bed on Wednesday. It took about an hour to go down stairs to get stronger painkillers and a cup of water. All those aches, pains and temperature made me totally useless as a human. Didn't even have any appetite. Don't remember the last time I was ill this badly. Usually can manage everyday chores with a help of paracetamol. But this time paracetamol didn't kill any pain. So, I had to opt for my hubby's co-codamol which fortunately I had kept since he died. Still, co-codamol didn't put me on the feet, but better than nothing.
Asked my neighbour to get us some milk and bread. On Wednesday night, my girls brought me a toast and a glass of milk. And on Thursday evening, they made an cheese omelet. We ate it together on my bed while I was listening to their confession of their failed attempt to make French toasts. (The heat must have been too high. They burned the outside but the inside was still raw.) Proud of both of my girls. Felt a bit perked up soon afterwards, so went downstairs to cook them a meal.
This morning, woke up feeling that was on the mend at last. Got my girls ready for school, but still didn't have energy to go out. But at last I started doing whatever couldn't do the last two days. Tons of washing up and laundry. Asked my neighbour to dry my wee one's duvet which I washed on Tuesday night. (Can't live without her. She is a model neighbour, you know. So caring and helpful. Will get her a bunch of
Found snowdrops in the back garden when I went out to hang some sheets. They always put a smile on my face.
