Relaxing visit

We went to S's house for tea this evening. This time, it was better than I had expected. Her husband and one of their son was at the table. The more, the merrier. My girls is getting used to behaving as a guest, too. So, I didn't need to keep an eye on them all the time. We had fun.

It makes me think why we didn't invite or weren't invited for tea (= evening meal) as often in Japan. Maybe having visitors mean having to give them the best food over there? Not sure (even though I had brought up and lived in Japan for 22 years). There's more relaxed casual atmosphere here, which I like because I don't like unnecessary formality from my friends. I would say the difference is something like the one you can tell by getting on a Japanese aeroplane and a British one. See how the cabin crew of each plane look after you.
