It looks that we have started having a Sunday dinner regularly like some families in this country. I had never intended to take up this custom, though. Brought up in a country where people have the main meal in the evening, I still feel a dinner in the afternoon is for somebody else.
But last Sunday we had a raclette dinner just after my girls came back from Sunday school. Then, had a roast chicken and all the trimmings at the same time today, just because I bought two chickens for the price of one last week.
It's nothing special, really. No hidden intention such as a weekly quality time with family. Just convenicent for us. On Sundays there's not much we can do outside. Not much in the gardens. So, we have plenty of time for resting and being lazy. (Of course we could clean inside the house from top to bottom if we ever wanted. But...) I don't go to church. So, while my girls are at Sunday school, I prepare for dinner and do some other weekly chores such as ironing school uniforms. This new routine fits in this slow life quite comfortably.
Well, our family life has changed a lot, so shifting a dinner time once a week is not a hassle at all, really.
