While the cat is away,...

... this mouse hasn't played as much as she wants to.

That's my reality. My boss has been away since the Friday afternoon last week, and he will be back this Saturday. But he left me (and everyone else) tons of tasks for this week. So, I can't wander off and relax, really. Some colleagues asked me to do other tasks, too. So, I need 30 hours day and 10 days for this week!!!

But life is not that bad. I've just eaten a home-made bread and butter pudding, one of the proper comfort foods, for example. We went out of the town to the shopping centre to buy a coat each for my girls and a bag for me. All of us came home with a big grin each. (I bought a bright red shoulder bag, which goes well with my red hair in a very weird way. I think that some people would avoid such a colour scheme for themselves, but life is short and I'm enjoying myself.)

And, we had a lunch at O'Brien's while we were at the shopping centre. I had a Italian pesto sandwich. The filling was green pesto, mozzarella, salad leaves and sun-dried tomatoes. My girls tried a bite each, and they loved it, too. Why am I writing about this? Well, none of the girls had liked green pesto and sun-dried tomatoes when they were wee. (About 5-6 years ago? Not sure.) But now they had the taste of the sandwich, and they love it. Good news to me, indeed. So, I bought a jar of green pesto and a bag of sun-dried tomatoes this week. Now the tomatoes are in a glass jar with olive oil. Can't wait to go Italian more properly in the kitchen!
