Clutter and cooking

Trying to get rid of clutters in this house. Enormous amount of unwanted/unneeded stuff everywhere. Glad that I now don't see no point of keeping them. For these 3-4 weeks, I threw out at least 7-8 plastic bags (supermarket ones) full of stuff into the rubbish bin. But still I can't see much difference in this house. It's a bit tidier, but I can't see the extra space which should have been created... Need to throw out more, I guess.

Watched a TV programme on ready-meals in UK on BBC2 this evening. Very interesting. I must be a minority in this country, who cooks from scratch as often as possible. Pleased with myself for stop using ready-meals as often as possible. (I sometimes buy certain items, though.) Recently I decided to buy a ready-meal as a treat for my lunch and went into a frozen-food shop. But I came home with usual stuff, a bag of frozen sweetcorn, frozen chicken breasts and frozen fish fillets plus a bag of rice and a packet of biscuits. Nothing for my treat because none of the ready-meals looked appetizing. Instead, I rustled up a bowl of spiced cous cous with spinach, and ate it with left-over chickpea + veg casserole for lunch when I got home. Easy-peasy. I must teach my girls how to cook bit by bit because the programme said that cookery lessons were not compulsory at school. I believe that basic cooking skills are as important as reading, writing and arithmetic skills. Boys and girls who grow up to be good at study but not to be able to cook, are so not human to me!
