Nationality? Forget about it!

Got a Scandinavian baking book from L. Thanks. I will definitely try some recipes. I love those kind of biscuits and cakes. Strange I crave them more than the stuff I ate in my childhood. But it means, my secret plan of losing a few pounds before Christmas has gone out of the window (again)!! Oh, well. As long as I eat and drink in moderation, I should be alright. (That's if I know what is the moderate amount...)

Met my late mother-in-law's best friend in the town by chance. Lovely to speak to her again. Of course the main topic was my in-laws (both the living and the dead). She is one of few people who truly understand my in-laws inside out and who speak their own minds freely with a touch kindness. So, I didn't mind talking about the dead ones and the nasty living one with her.

Before leaving Japan, I had never dreamed of myself standing in the middle of a town happily chatting away with an old woman and waving at an old neighbour. Weird, but nice. It's one of the moments I completely forget about my skin colour and flat face. Well, I don't care how different I look from the majority, though. I mean, nowadays the reactions from certain people in this town don't remind me that I'm different.
