It will be the same again next year, I'm sure.

Went to an annual event of the town today. There was a huge crowd in the town centre. Even our street is packed with parked cars. The event seems becoming more and more famous each year. And more and more foreigners coming as well. Well, nothing else to do in the town, any way. The weather is brilliant, so why not go out and enjoy? My wee one had arranged to go with her friend (plus the friend's mum). So, my big girl and I walked her to the meeting point and headed for the town centre.

Basically it's always the same: farm machines, vintage cars, farm products, craft, bric-a-brac, sweets, rip-off games (not many people pay for them), fairground rides for tiny kids, farm animals (poor things, staying in tiny enclosures all day long. Must be terribly boring.), food stalls (£2 for a burger, £1 for a slice of pizza, etc), falk/country singers and dancers, religous people (there was even a blackman preaching between stalls!), etc. We walked and looked around stalls and displays as usual. The difference this year is I was not as stingy as I used to be. The whole thing was alright. Sort of "it's always the same every year" with a little difference (especially with food stalls). I bought 2 different fruit breads which will be our weekend treat. There were some Italian style breads, which looked yummy, but I chose simple Irish-style ones. The Irish make the best Irish breads, you know.

Just after coming home, there's a phone call from our Polish uncle in London. Good timing. And also good to hear from him again.
