Baby boy? So what?

Am I the only one who thinks that Japan sucks for celebrating the birth of a royal baby BOY? Suddenly the country looks to me that they are 50 years behind the western world.

I believe that traditions which harm the society should be got rid of. Tradition doesn't always mean "good", you know. It can turn into bad habits or useless obstacles. Why do girls have to be inferior just because of this tradition? Why do they still teach "men and women are equal" at school when they are so relieved to hear the news of the baby boy? They should either abolish the sexist tradition or the gender equality laws.

That country is supposed to have a philosophy of "nothing lasts forever". But they are desperately clinging on to this "male successor" obsession as if this was a matter of life or death. Pathetic, aren't they? I won't be with them any more if they keep contradicting themselves like this.
