A church elder visited us this evening. The last time I saw him, he said to me, "See you until September". So, it was a surprise. Well, not frightening, thanks goodness. He told me that I should be a proud mother for having very pleasant daughters. Does he mean it? Or, does he say that to keep me in a good mood, hoping I will come to the church or even become a Christian one day?? I don't feel bad being flattered now and again, though.
He gave me a church newsletter and showed me a photo of a new Lay Visitor who might call us one day. According to him, she is a midwife at the local hospital where I gave births to my girls. A familiar face, indeed.
I read the article with the photo after saying good-bye to the elder. The woman is the midwife who looked after me in the delivery room when I had my first baby!!! And I spoke to her again in a maternity ward when I had my second one... It's a small world.
